Canakkale Bowls

These authentic bowls were often used to distribute food rations among Ottoman forces during the Allied invasion of Turkey in World War One. Their name originates from Gallipoli, which is commonly known to the Turks as Canakkale. We think the next chapter in their story deserves to be a happy and peaceful one, preferably involving succulents in a beautiful outdoor environment.

Anatolia has been at the centre of numerous civilizations due to its strategic position at the intersection of Asia and Europe. Each historical influence has helped to shape Turkey, reflected in the grand assortment of antiques and traditional artisanal artifacts offered there today. Our journeys took us to the beautiful olive groves dotted along the Mediterranean coastline where we spent considerable time searching for distinctive pieces, steeped in history and with a rich story to share.
